RCFA are proud to release the 'Pop Art' signed limited edition collection by Horace Panter.

Horace's artwork is informed by his many years of involvement in the music business, travelling all over the world visiting art galleries and museums, as bass player with THE SPECIALS.
Whether it be paying homage to his heroes in The Blues and Jazz world, or a tribute to The Clash (a band The Specials toured with in the late 70's) the art is full of detail and information about his chosen subject. This ethos also applies to the other series included here -  'Icons', 'Cassettes' and 'Robots'.

POP ART COLLECTION
Including the silkscreen edition of The Specials (each copy is hand coloured by the artist)

THE BLUES COLLECTION
Ten different images of Blues legends, including Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Stevie Ray Vaughan....

JAZZ COLLECTION
The Jazz collection follows on from The Blues series, only two images at the moment, Miles Davies and Charlie Parker.

CASSETTE COLLECTION
Adhering to the Pop Art ideal of 'elevating the mundane' Horace uses the cassette tapes from a bygone era to make wonderful statement pieces. Featuring 'John Peel - August 1981', 'Northern Soul', 'Motown Chartbusters Volume 3.....

ICON COLLECTION
Of The Icon Collection, Horace says “an icon is ‘written’, just like graffiti, where all the rules of perspective and chiaroscuro are thrown out of the window in favour of a different visual hierarchy ... hopefully [my icons] achieve a reverence without being pretentious.”
These include 'Amy Winehouse' (the original was donated to The Amy Winehouse Foundation) who appeared on stage with The Specials in 2009

ROBOT COLLECTION

The ‘Robot’ collection reflect a youthful obsession with the 1950’s futuristic fantasy genre and how that particular rendition of the robot has become iconic.

On 1st March 2014 we will be holding a major solo exhibition by Horace Panter. Alongside the editions we will also feature a large collection of original pieces. Selected originals to the edition collection can be previewed by appointment (please contact the gallery for further information).
